Furniture delivery day is usually filled with much anticipation. Here are some things that you can do that will help your furniture delivery be as smooth as possible.
- Please provide us with clear directions to your home. While technology has made finding locations easier, sometimes the online maps are not updated, and they often do not allow for construction or road closures.
- Please plan to be home to accept delivery, or have someone on site to receive and sign for your furniture in your absence.
- It is imperative that you notify us of any unusual elements of your home or yard that may complicate the delivery. Please make us aware of stairs, decks, sharp turns, and upper / lower levels, narrow areas, etc.
Prepare your home for delivery
Our delivery team makes every effort to be conscientious of your living area during delivery of your new furniture. However, there are some things that you can do that will ensure that a mishap does not occur.
- Please remove the existing furniture and clear the area for your new furniture.
- Please remove pictures, mirrors, and other wall décor in hallways or other areas that are in the path of delivery.
- Please remove any plants, accessories, toys, etc., that maybe in the path of the delivery.
- Please protect your floors; our delivery staff will not remove their shoes as they enter your home. Knowing that some people have lighter colored carpeting, we want to give you the opportunity to protect those areas. (When you are protecting your floors, please avoid plastic or bulky cloths that may cause our delivery staff to trip.)
PLEASE NOTE:
Nigbur’s Fine Furniture’s delivery staff is unable to move or remove other furniture that is already in your home. Electric components, TV’s, etc., will not be moved or re-installed.
Prepare for the arrival of the delivery truck
- Make sure your driveway and entrance to your home is clear.
- Please clear low branches and make us aware of any power lines.
- Snow, ice, leaves or other obstacles must be cleared away prior to delivery.
- Pets must be secured away from the delivery truck and drivers.
Please notify us in advance of any conditions that would prevent a smooth delivery.
Nigbur’s Fine Furniture has the right to cancel and / or refuse delivery and will make changes in delivery schedule if severe weather conditions exist.
